Design Committee

The design committee deals with the enhancement of the physical appearance of the commercial district. Issues include: quality standards, community structure, infrastructure, architectural character, physical planning, maintenance, and codes and ordinances.

Organization Committee

This committee helps build consensus and cooperation among the many groups and individuals who have a role in the revitalization process. Organization issues include: fundraising, community involvement, pro-active leadership, strategic work planning, and public/private partnerships.

Promotion Committee

The promotion committee markets the traditional commercial district’s assets to customers, potential investors, new businesses, local citizens and visitors. This includes public relations, visual identity, merchandising, events and activities, and education.

Economic Restructuring Committee

This committee deals with issues that strengthens the districts’ existing economic base while finding ways to expand it to meet new opportunities and challenges from outlying development. Issues include: business recruitment/retention, market potential, financial incentives, adaptive re-use, and community input.
